Chestnut Farm Studio, in Cheddar is running a print and stitch workshop on Saturday.

It will be run by textile artist Viv White and is designed to encourage exploration of simple printing techniques to create backgrounds for stitch.

Printing skills will be taught including stencils made from freezer paper and funky or fun foam.

Techniques which can be used individually or in combination to create layers of colour and pattern.

Prints can be made on a variety of fabrics ranging from calico and pillow cotton to laminated patchwork using bondaweb and fabric scraps.

Fabric printing ink and acrylics will be used providing a good range of colour. The resulting fabrics can be embellished with hand or machine embroidery and additional fabric pieces.

The tutor will provide basic fabrics, paints and printing tools and materials.

The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm and is £40 including materials, lunch and other refreshments.
