WORK is due to start this month on installing new energy efficient traffic lights at a busy junction in Weston-super-Mare.

The traffic lights at Queensway Junction with Walford Avenue and New Bristol Road are due to be replaced with energy efficient low wattage LED units, costing £18,500.

The work is on September 11 and 12 and the lights will not operate on these days. The new lights will result in a 70 per cent reduction in energy and carbon emissions.
