Woodspring Wings Show called off due to waterlogged airfield
Bad weather has forced the organisers of a popular model aircraft show to cancel the event.
The 20th anniversary Woodspring Wings Show was due to take place at its airfield in Yatton next weekend.
But heavy rain during the past month has caused the airfield to become waterlogged and after an inspection, organisers took the decision to cancel.
Woodspring Wings chairman, Warren Smyth said: “The airfield is on the Somerset levels which are low lying and prone to flooding, and with this year’s high rainfall the ground is untenable and will not dry out in time for the event.”
