Woman's horror as kitten is thrown from moving car window
An animal lover who saw a kitten tossed out of a moving car near Wincanton has slammed the “vile crime”.
Stacey Breaden, of South Brewham, was driving along the B3081 near Buckhorn Weston on Tuesday, October 30, when she saw the kitten thrown out of the passenger window of a white Citroen Berlingo.
Despite taking it into her care, Ms Breaden said the kitten, which she named Roadkill, suffered a seizure and died.
She has now called for the offender to be brought to justice.

Ms Breaden said: “I am completely in shock. I was driving along after leaving work when I saw the kitten fly out of the window of the passenger side of the car and into the hedge.
“It hit the verge and rolled over and over.
“I slammed the brakes – it was clearly in shock as it hissed and spat at me.
“I don’t know what goes through people’s minds.
“I could never do anything like that to an animal. To see such a beautiful little thing in such pain was so hard.”
Ms Breaden recently completed an epilepsy awareness course as part of her job as a support worker for adults with learning difficulties.
As a result, she instantly recognised when the kitten suffered a seizure on Thursday night and was beyond help.
Sam Roberts, who helps run Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue in Wincanton, said: “Only the week before we heard of a similar incident near Buckhorn Weston, so by the sounds of it someone is driving around the area and dumping them.
“It just shows someone has no regard for animals. If they had any sentimentality they would have phoned up the rescue centre.”
Sergeant Dean Hamilton, neighbourhood beat manager, said: “This is an atrocious act of cruelty to an animal.
“It is the first incident of its kind that police have been made aware of in this area and one we sincerely hope does not happen again.”
Ms Breaden has also appealed to the local community for information after her beloved cat, Marmite, disappeared on Friday.
