One of Bridgwater’s oldest carnival clubs, dating back more than 60 years, is about to be made homeless, and is desperately appealing for somewhere to build its cart.

The club’s current landlords are selling their land and the club needs a shed measuring 80ft by 60ft or a piece of land on which to build one.

The prospect of the club’s 100ft cart not gracing the carnival circuit in 2013 is increasingly likely.

Wills pulled together an austerity-busting entry last year, proving that the club could work to a meagre budget, and was optimistic for the future, but the price of land is rocketing and health-and-safety regulations are making the future increasingly bleak.
