Whitstone School celebrate GCSE Results
Students and staff at Whitstone School are again celebrating their best results ever, with 75% of the year group achieving at least 5 A*-C grades. Maths and Science results in particular are outstanding and both subjects show a good improvement, bucking the national trend.
GCSE success follows a year of successes, most notably the positive Ofsted report last February, which confirms the school’s reputation as the most rapidly improving school in the area.
As always, there were some fantastic individual results. Veyndan Stuart, who achieved an A* in Maths at the end of Year 9, was entered for ‘A’ Level Maths this summer and achieved a grade A.
Other high achievers include Jamie Bowles, Sam Chaplin, Lewis Clarke, Rowan Davis, William Meaden, Holly Stowell-Connolly and Dominic Western, who managed a staggering 81 A and A* grades between them.

Headteacher, Gill Rennard, said: "Obviously we are delighted with the results. The number of A and A* grades has also risen this year and we are securing a reputation for academic excellence as well as for our high standards of teaching and learning, behaviour and good manners.
"All our Year 11 students have places confirmed at local colleges to study ‘A’ Levels, vocational courses or apprenticeships. Congratulations to them all and we wish them the very best as they move on to the next phase of their education."
