Weston-super-Mare pub landlord plans charity truck pull
The landlord of a Weston-super-Mare pub is looking to people to take part in a charity truck pull.
Paul Sprackman, 55, who is the landlord of the Criterion Pub in Upper Church Road, is organising the charity stunt on September 22 to raise money for Weston RNLI.
He is asking teams of six to pull a 7.5 tonne Thatchers Dray lorry along a 40 metre stretch of Upper Church Road and raise sponsorship for the charity. The truck pull will take place from 1pm-3pm and will be followed by live music from the Combine Harvesters, Cherry Pickers, Uncle John and others.
Mr Sprackman, who has run the pub for three and a half years, said: “As we are close to the seafront we wanted to support the RNLI.
