Avonmouth Old Boys will be looking to extend their run of three home victories in SSE National Three SW when they welcome Weston-super-Mare to Barracks Lane on tomorrow afternoon, while the Seasiders will be hoping to complete a league double having beaten their opponents 37-12 last September.

But Avonmouth fly-half Matt Belbin says that the mood in the camp is good despite being just six points above the relegation zone in their first season at this level. They started the season with a run of eight defeats.

Belbin said: “None of the boys are taking the result from the previous game this season as we were still trying to find our feet in the league. We’ve had some relatively good form in the last five games and know that on our day home or away we can pull off any result.

“We have proved this against Malvern and Newton Abbot, but our next six fixtures are all against teams at the top of the table. This is a chance for everyone to show some character and prove that we are good enough to be in this league.”
