Westfest ravers told to avoid walking along the A371
Organisers of this weekend's popular Westfest dance music event at the Bath and West Showground have given assurances to residents that all steps have been taken to minimise any disturbance.
In letters to homes around the area, organisers Slammin' Vinyl Ltd pledge they have again put in place systems to ensure the dance music event on Saturday night has as little impact as possible on the local community.
And they urge fans to avoid walking along the busy A371 road at all costs and are appealing to them to use minicabs or the shuttle bus services which will be in operation between Castle Cary and Shepton Mallet.
There will be no access to the event through the main gate.

All visitors must enter through Yellow Gate only.
Anyone dropping people off must drive them down to the correct entrance, as it is not safe for people to walk along the main road, organisers warn.
There is a taxi/public drop off point at the yellow gate entrance and shuttle buses run to Shepton Mallet and Castle Cary Station.
To ensure the safety of anyone who does choose to walk along the unlit road there will be a temporary advisory speed restriction of 30 mph between Prestleigh and Bagborough Lane from 10am on Saturday to 11am on Sunday.
Teams of independent sound monitoring engineers will be working with Mendip District Council to monitor and control the sound at the event.
The event does not have a firework display and systems are in place to stop unauthorised fireworks following incidents in which people who attended in the past set off fireworks in the car park as they left the event.
Anyone with any concerns can contact the organisers during the show via the production office on 01749 988312 or the dedicated noise hotline on 01749 988347.
