Webster just missed out on an award double. He was also shortlisted for the weekly print journalist of the year award, along with Mid Somerset Series' Oliver Hulme, but they were both beaten to the top prize by Ginette Davies of the West Briton.
The Nailsea, Clevedon and Portishead Times missed out to the Midweek Herald for best free weekly newspaper, while Western Gazette pair Robert Golledge and Laura Jones were nominated in the newcomer and news photographer awards respectively.
