With six arenas and some of the biggest names in the industry Westfest 2012 provided a huge line-up for fans of all things hard dance.

The main stage offered up hard hitters such as long term king of Drum & Bass, Andy C, Radio One’s Friction, hardcore heavyweight Darren Styles and the UK’s number one hardcore DJ Gammer. While the other arenas held host to Dutch hardcore legend Evil Activities, Radio One’s hard dance honcho Kutski and the hard dance showman Mark EG.

Fans seemed to be in high spirits and with each DJ bringing their own individual style to the table, the arenas carried their own personality within.

Outside saw the return of a fun fair, merchandise stall and accessories tent.

Despite problems outside the showground posed by hundreds walking along the road to and from the venue in the dark, inside the site organisers reported no major problems. Police were so concerned about the numbers of pedestrians using the A371 that they gave them lifts in patrol cars to and from Castle Cary railway station.

Inside the showground one spectator said: “It is one of the best Westfest events I have been to.

“Everything was well organised and slick – far better than previous years – and the atmosphere inside was absolutely great.”
