Wells has to 'wait turn' for Christmas lights take down
The bad weather over January has led to Wells feeling festive a little longer than planned.
Torbay Display provide Christmas lights for the city centre and more than 20 other towns and cities across the South West.
They were due to take the decorations down a couple of weeks ago but the snow has led to their schedule being pushed back.
Councillor David Anderson, from Wells finance and general purposes committee, said: "They've been held up in Torquay because of the snow. They will get to us in the end.

"They've got one crew for all the towns they have displays in, as well as numerous shop fronts. We have to wait our turn."
Torbay have provided Christmas lights for Wells for eight years.
The city rents the lights from them each year rather than buying a set outright.
This means that the company stores the lights for the rest of the year and each festive season Wells gets a display that is different from the previous Christmas.
Mr Anderson said on Tuesday that the lights should be coming down this week, either on Wednesday or on Sunday.
When asked by the Journal whether or not the lights going on each night until the end of January had cost the city more than expected in electricity bills, Mr Anderson said: "Years ago it used to cost £60 per string of lights over the Christmas period.
"Now it costs £6 because we use LEDs. So the additional cost is neither here nor there, really."
