Wells Golf Club team add Shackleford Trophy to Avalon League success
Wells Golf Club's Avalon League team added the Shackleford Trophy to their league title.
Team manager Jason Huck said: "It was a great effort on the day but I'd like to thank all the players who have contributed to the team's success."
Tim Ashman and James Church scored 41 points, as did Huck and Mark Western. Ian Burr and Dave Hayward finished on 39, with Simon Jackson and Pete Walker on 36, one better than Malcolm Terry and Dave Baker.
Meanwhile, Wells seniors joined their captain for an away day at Long Sutton and found the conditions challenging.

A team and individual event took place, as well as nearest-the-pin competitions, with Ken Ford, Ian McArthur and Bill Taylor winning the Captain's Shield with 81 points.
Three players tied for the individual lead on 36 points but Bob Davies took top spot on countback ahead of runner-up Terry Pearce and Nick Wilson in third.
All the medal winners from this season contested the Tweedale Medal Final on Sunday. Vic Rossiter hit a fine nett 68 to win by three shots from Simon Elliott, with Western a shot back in third.
