Wells ABC boxers pack a punch at Frome show
Wells Amateur Boxing Club's new season started in impressive fashion as both Ollie Brown and Sonny Bridgeman recorded victories at Frome ABC's show.
Brown's sheer competitiveness and sharp punching proved to be decisive as he overpowered Mike Watts from the host club, unleashing a barrage of lefts and rights which put his opponent on the canvas inside the first round.
Bridgeman then made it a double success for Wells with a points victory over Steve Loveridge from Highbridge, who was only saved from his own first-round defeat by the bell.
The second round proved to be a lot closer as Bridgeman tired towards the end and both boxers appeared to have punched themselves out in the final round.

However, Bridgeman had done enough in the early stages to get the nod from the judges.
Wells coach Liam White said: "I am so pleased for both boxers, Clive Gadd and myself both believe these two boys have big futures.
"Ollie Brown has that urgency about him to win as quickly as possible and he is exactly the same when he is training. He is so keen but he has the talent to go with it.
"Sonny Bridgeman has good boxing skills and is a fit boy but we have to find a way to stop him punching himself out too early in the contest.
"When we come up with the answer, Sonny then has the makings of a top-class boxer."
