Wedmore Harvest Home reveals guest is One Show wildlife expert Mike Dilger
Following in John Craven’s footsteps, another TV celebrity has been lined for this year’s Wedmore Harvest Home.
The One Show and Inside Out wildlife reporter Mike Dilger is the guest of honour at this year’s bumper village bash on Friday, August 16.
The news was announced at the harvest home’s annual social thank you evening last week.
A statement from the harvest home organising committee said: “Mike is a keen ecologist, natural history presenter and writer. He has a life-long passion for British and tropical flora and fauna and is most well known for his presenting on the BBC One Show. Mike is probably the most widely watched wildlife presenter on TV today.”

John Craven, the face of Countryfile, was warmly received at Wedmore Harvest Home’s 100th bash last summer.
Money raised was handed out to Wedmore Day Centre and Wedmore Pre-School, each receiving £250, with £1,000 going to Wedmore Playing Fields’ Raise the Rec expansion.
The afternoon belly-busting luncheon will be followed up with the harvest home’s first themed evening bash.
The School Reunion Band will be performing all the classics and party goers are encouraged to see if the old school uniform still fits. DJ Enhance will be performing alongside the band during the evening entertainment.
The harvest home day will have all its usual features like the church service, procession, children’s races and tea.
