Wedding waitress duties raise Guide trip funds
Guides waitressed at a wedding to raise money for a trip to Switzerland.
The 45 girls, from Chew Magna, Timsbury and Keynsham, will be staying at a World Centre of Girlguiding at Adelboden.
Guide leader Sue Curtis said they had done well with fundraising so far, with more events planned.
"This should be a great experience for the girls, some who have never been abroad before.
"We have kept the cost as low as we could to enable more girls the chance to take part and are therefore fundraising to allow us to do more when out there."
Some of the girls waitressed for a wedding of a Girlguiding helper, Gail Snook, who got married to Simon Norris at Horningsham on the Longleat estate, and raised more than £600.
Sue said: "Gail came on our last Girlguiding trip to Switzerland as an adult."
