Volunteer ambulance car drivers needed
Do you have a car, a few spare hours and a desire to do something positive for your local community?
If the answer is yes South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) would like to hear from you. The SWASFT Voluntary Ambulance Car Service (VACS) is looking to expand its dedicated team of volunteer drivers to help take patients to and from planned medical appointments.
Nick Gibson, head of VACS (North Division) at the trust, said: “Our volunteers play an important role in ensuring thousands of patients each month across the SWASFT region get to their appointments on time. They are greatly appreciated by the many patients they help on a daily basis. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and all aspects of the community and are a valued part of the SWASFT family.”
The trust is looking to recruit additional volunteer drivers to provide non-emergency transport for patients going to and from home, hospitals, clinics, community units and dialysis centre’s.
