Vodafone signal returns to Yeovil mobile customers after vandalised mast repaired

A vandalised mast in Langport that knocked out phone signal for Vodafone customers in the Yeovil area has now been fixed, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed.

Hundreds of people have been unable to use their mobile phones since Sunday after a mast at Picts Hill was targeted by vandals.

Reception across Yeovil was sporadic with some areas retaining a signal while others lost it completely.

A spokeswoman for Vodafone UK said engineers visited the site yesterday and equipment needed to fix the mast was delivered today.

She said that although only one mast was damaged it affected nearby masts.

She added: "We do apologise to customers that are affected by that. The site was repaired this morning."
