A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire had been extinguished shortly after 8am, but that external firefighting would continue this afternoon with two aerial ladder platforms using one main jet.
The service also confirmed that a building control officer will be attending the scene today, and four crews would provide relief support from 2pm.
