Vice-captain Ange Webber wins Isle of Wedmore ladies' Stableford
Two medals and a Stableford competition took place in a busy week at Isle of Wedmore.
The ladies' Stableford event, with the Grannies Cup up for grabs, was won by vice-captain Ange Webber with 40 points.
This also put her first in Division 2 but only a single point clear of Jan Jenkins, who was runner-up on countback, and Di Miller in third.
There was a relatively small field in Silver Division but some good scores were still produced, with Maggie Morris winning on countback from Sue Tarry after both scored 37, one clear of Alison Dodkin.
There was a familiar name at the head of Division 1 in the Club Medal as Josh Barwell continued his remarkable run of successes.
His handicap fell again as he recorded a nett 68 to win Division 1 from Dominic Smith (69) and Steve Lockley (70).
The best score of the day came in Division 2, which was won by Mike Sartain, whose round of 67 put him four shots clear of Mark Cornish (71), with Robert Cornish a shot back in third.
There was a tight finish to Division 3 as Jim Crick recorded 68 to finish one clear of Nigel Young in second and David Stacey in third.
In a small ladies' field, Alison Dodkin did enough to reduce her handicap, winning with a nett 71.
The best scores of the week came in the seniors' medal, which saw Martin Easton win Division 1 with a nett 63, pushing club captain Tom Bennett's 64 into second. Ray Dodkin was third with 67.
Easton's was not the only 63 of the day as Tony Metcalf matched this score to win Division 2, putting him five clear of second-placed Richard Sanders, with Colin Clegg a further shot back in third.
Division 3 honours went to Clive Williams (68), winning by two shots from Jim Sims and Bernard Abbott, with Sims taking second place on countback.
