Veterinary nurse enjoys a cup of tea on her overturned van
A RECYCLING crew have been hailed as heroes after helping a veterinary nurse from an overturned van.
Liz Lewis, head veterinary nurse at Axe Valley Veterinary Practice, skidded in mud and turned the practice van on its side in Stoughton Lane, Blackford, last week. She was uninjured in the incident.
The three-man recycling crew from Somerset Waste Partnership’s Kier MG contractor stopped to help her out of the van.
They then proceeded to divert traffic, wait with her and made her a cup of tea.
She later rang SWP to say they were “extremely helpful and kind”.
The crew members were Brian Barker, Eddie Wych and Rob Davis.
Somerset Waste Partnership managing director, Steve Read, said: “Our collections crews from Kier MG and recycling site staff from Viridor always try to be helpful.
“But it is really great to hear that on this occasion they were also able to make a difference for Liz when she needed help.”
