Frome vet to keep clinic open despite surgery blaze causing major damage
A Frome vet has said it is business as usual at his clinic despite a fire at his surgery, which looks set to cost thousands of pounds to repair.
David Francis, who owns Bellevue Veterinary Clinic, in Trudoxhill, discovered the fire at about 7.15pm on Thursday, January 3, in the first floor office area.

He said the fire service arrived within ten minutes and worked until 10pm to extinguish the blaze.
The vet, who has worked in the Frome area for more than 40 years, said he was working in the building when he came across the fire.

He said: "I was working in the surgery when I discovered the fire in the office area of the building.
"I quickly rang the fire brigade who arrived within ten minutes.
"They worked for several hours to contain the blaze and thank goodness they were so efficient.
"We've had a very lucky escape and it could well have been devastating for us – at one point I thought it was all going up.
"But because of the quick work of the fire brigade, we are able to remain open while the repairs are carried our.
"All the animals are safe and no one was injured in the fire - it is business as usual."
The fire caused some structural damage to the roof and office walls.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, but Mr Francis believes it to be an electrical fault.
Electricians and builders are working to repair the damage.
Mr Francis opened the clinic in 2006, which specialises in equine, farm and small animals.
