A Valentine's Day menu is available at £95 per couple, or you can book an overnight Valentine's stay for £200 per room. That price also includes the Valentine's dinner, a full English breakfast and use of the hotel's spa facilities.

3) Farthings Country House Hotel at Hatch Beauchamp, near Taunton, is laying on a Valentine's Day menu specially created by chef Simon Clewlow. Costing £65 per person, diners will be welcomed with champagne and canapes, and a mouth-watering choice of medallions of monkfish or fillet of Somerset beef and Brixham lobster.

4) The Old Station Inn and Carriage Restaurant at Hallatrow is placing the emphasis on sharing this Valentine's Day. Its Valentine's menu on February 14, at just £21.95 per person, includes starters and desserts to share with your loved one. The main course offers a choice of pan-roasted sirloin steak or baked herb-marinated turbot, and a glass of sparkling wine is also included on arrival.

5) Brazz@The Castle in Taunton has a Valentine's Day special menu costing £39 per person, to include a glass of 'pink fizz'. And, if a three-course meal isn't romantic enough, why not treat your loved one to an overnight stay? The Castle also offers a range of beauty treatments.

8) The Archangel in Frome says its Valentine's menu showcases the very best produce from the South West. The three-course meal is available for £25 per person.

9) The Green Room in Yeovil is now taking bookings for Valentine's Day meals. Head chef Lincoln Jones is currently creating a romantic four-course menu, offering seductive scallops and finest succulent fillet. The meal will also include coffee and petit fours, and is priced at £42 per person.
