Use your vote wisely and choose candidate who will work for us
One of the biggest issues facing our village is the threat of inadequate housing developments.
Because Peasedown St John is such an attractive place to live building developers want to buy up our beautiful country fields to build even more housing here.
The last few months have seen near enough 1,000 people sign a petition against plans to build 89 homes in Greenlands Road. The location isn't ideal, we have huge concerns about access and the already creaking infrastructure.
Residents Protecting Peasedown has carried out a fantastic job of engaging residents and raising awareness of the negative impacts this could have on the village.

My daughter isn't yet two years old – by the time she gets to school age I want to be assured that the local primary school still has the space, and capacity to give her the education she deserves.
It's interesting that we have a timely by-election for the parish council this month. It will be a perfect opportunity for us to have our say on which candidate is representing the views of local people the most, particularly on this issue.
For me that's Becci McCafferty from Peasedown 1st. Not only does she live in Peasedown she is the only candidate who seems to be active in the community.
The Labour candidate lives here, however his manifesto letter is entirely an attack on Peasedown 1st and the Liberal Democrats with no actual suggestions as to what he would do to make Peasedown a better place apart from standing against the rest of the parish council.
I find this a very negative attitude and also an unjust attack on Peasedown 1st, which does so much for our village and community and brings people together of all political backgrounds.
I want to support a candidate who works productively for all the community and has ideas about what they would do if elected, and that person is Becci. The other candidate doesn't even live in Peasedown!
I may be biased, but I want someone to represent me who knows what it's like to have young children, who already has experience of doing voluntary work in the community, and who has already campaigned on the issues that matter. Becci's website is pretty impressive too: www.peasedown1st.org.uk.

Voting has already started in Peasedown as residents begin to return their postal ballots for the by-election on February 14.
May I thank my Labour colleagues and supporters who have trudged the streets in rain and snow over the past couple of weeks.
But I would especially like to thank the warm-hearted people who have already pledged their support for me, I am very grateful and humbled by these positive messages.
I am the Labour and Co-operative candidate – the only one openly standing under a political banner that is all about community and providing a strong grassroots voice for local people. It would be a vote for the future, a positive change for the better.
If you are a resident of Peasedown St John, please use your vote wisely next week. If elected, I promise to do my best to demand a better deal for the village at all levels – without fear or favour.

“Within just three short weeks Jordan has outlined ideas to reduce fly posting, tackle loan sharks, promote credit unions, opposed over-development in Peasedown and pledged to campaign for a fairer deal from Bath for Peasedown St John. He's the only candidate being honest about his political roots and strong enough to stand up to the Lib Dem councillors who don't challenge B&NES on their failure to improve public services for the village. Time to ring out the old, ring in the new.”
