Happy Nude Year! Frome strips off for charity
There appears to have been lots of semi-naked people across Frome this week. But don’t be alarmed - it's all in the name of fun and charity. Here's a taste of what some of the calendars feature...
A Beckington student has featured three times in a saucy calendar to raise money for a local charity.

Laura Eyles, 23, studies at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester and is the Foxyhunters' calendar's cover girl, Miss February and Miss November.
The calendar features women event riders, show jumpers and hunt followers wearing little more than suspenders, riding boots and whips.
In scenes reminiscent of Jilly Cooper's racy novel Riders, the fine fillies posed on horseback, in country mansions and in mucky stables.
The calendar aims to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Cancer Research.
Miss Eyles, a regular with the Avon Vale hunt in Wiltshire, said: ''I've been riding horses since I was very small and it's always been a big part of my life.
''Anyone who is involved in country pursuits such as fox hunting really values the service that air ambulances provide."
Photographer David Betteridge, who came up with the idea of the calendar, said the women were happy to strip off for the ambulance service because they were well aware of the risks involved in horse riding.
He said: ''They didn't take any persuading to take part and I think that's because they know that it could be them needing an ambulance the next time they jump into the saddle."
You can get the £10 calendar from www.foxy hunters.co.uk and in selected stores nationwide.
* Staff at the Frome Medical Practice unveiled a little more than usual this week when their naked calendar was launched for charity.
More than 25 doctors, nurses and administration staff from Locks Hill, Saffron and the Park Road practices bared all to raise funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of one of their colleagues, receptionist Janet Standon.
The calendar, which was printed by Frome book printers, Butler, Tanner and Dennis, was unveiled at a launch party held at the Rook Lane Chapel on October 29.
It features staff in a variety of poses with a health and fitness theme and it is hoped that it will raise about £15,000.
The idea came from two receptionists, Alison Grey and Kevin Sivell, who are both delighted it has become a reality.
Mrs Grey said: “The launch night went really well. We’ve already sold £1,000 worth of calendars and still have a long way to go but so far we are doing really well. The calendar looks fantastic.”
The team has had lots of people come forward to help put the calendar together, including professional photographer Raymond May, who has given his services for free.
Graphic designer Simon Saunders is designing the calendar.
Other companies that have helped with costs include Asda, Pinkies in Bath Street, Frome Physio and skin cancer charity SCARF.
In the last few weeks Trowbridge food firm Apetito has donated £250, along with Center Parcs.
The calendar will be available in Asda and Pinkies later this month.

“I call it Karma when people injure themselves whilst hunting. And don't try to tell me these people don't participate in hunting because I know some of the models and know they hunt!!! This calendar glamourises hunting and I think its pathetic!”

“I heard that there was also a very real story about the calender that brought the seriousness of riding to the forefront! One of the models for the foxyhunters calender was very seriously injured just after the start of shooting for the calender, she was taking part in a team chase when thrown from her horse and needed the hampshire air ambulance to save her from her life threatening injuries. This young girl has taken months to return to work after having numerous operations and months of physio, good luck to all in this calender and i personally hope that they raise thousands for our life saving air ambulances and their crews. Its all brought home to you when you hear of or know of someone who has needed the services of this much needed service.”
