Twinning takes victory
THE second Clevedon Marine Lake Aquathlon took place on Sunday, June 21.
The event saw 22 individual competitors and four teams, with eight swimmers doing one lap and, with a four-minute stagger, the remaining competitors started their two-lap swim
After the transition from swimming to running, they proceeded along the promenade, turned around at the pier and returned along the same route.
After the event, presentations were made by Joe Norman, Chairman of Marlens, to the winners in each category.
Winners: Men two-lap – Geoff Twinning 32.48, ladies two-lap – Selina Davies 40.26, men one-lap – Jago Snook 24.41, men veteran one-lap – Andy Stewart 30.39, men veteran two-lap – Weis Wollants 33.36, ladies veteran two-lap – Claore Thomas 38.38, boys two-lap – Harry Thornton 33.40, boys one-lap – Andrew Bowen 32.13, girls one-lap – Sophie Feboul 22.15, team two-lap – Gigs & Shortstuff 44.44, team one-lap = Snook Team 22.41.
The event was organised by Jenny Ellis of Marlens, Fiona Bowen of Clevedon Amateur Swimming Club and Kerry Perkins of Pac-Tri Club.
