Turbines have value
MR Brown clearly seems happy to limit his assessment of the value of wind turbines to changes in the landscape and financial return (letters, October 24).
I'm sure the value of wind turbines will remain unfathomable to those who choose to do so.
In September every Government in the world signed their acceptance that there is a limited amount of carbon that we can emit if we are to avoid disruptive climate change to our beautiful Mendip and Somerset. Furthermore they agreed, if we don't reduce current levels of emissions, that amount will be used up by 2030.
Efforts over many years by some to dismiss the evidence as bad science were clearly no longer credible, so they signed.
