Trio's frenzied start to the year
At the beginning of the year Frome's psychobilly legends Frenzy were crowned the Somerset Standard and Guardian's "band of 2009".
Having wowed thousands at California's Ink 'n' Iron Festival and played sold out festivals in Spain, Germany and visited Russia no one would question the band's triumphs last year.

As we predicted, 2010 has already proved just as busy and exciting.
"We have been to some interesting places this year," said Steve Whitehouse (double bass and vocals), "and to make things even more kickin', they are places that we have never been before.
"Early last month, we headed out for Brazil. Now, this is a place that Frenzy have always wanted to play, and have never had a decent enough contact that we could really rely on – Brazil is not a place you want to be flying out to unless everything is well organised.
"So when we got an email from a well-known promoter asking us to headline a big festival we were really chuffed.
"I don't know if many people are aware, but most of the big towns and cities in Brazil have huge carnivals during February each year and in Curitiba, a guy called Vlad has been putting on a big music festival as part of this tradition for the past 11 years.
"We were really excited by the opportunity to play such an event, especially as the headlining act.
"We, like most people, had preconceived perceptions of how it would be and we were nervous about all the stories of rough customs officials, dodgy police, street gangs etc, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised by how nice it all seemed.
"The people are really nice and the main town areas were really clean. The hotel was awesome and we didn't feel intimidated walking around the streets at all.
"We spent a couple of days at the festival before the night we were due to play and were overwhelmed by the amount of excited Brazilians coming up to us over the moon that Frenzy had come to their country.
"It was full on enthusiasm and we couldn't wait for our show night to come around. When it did, we weren't disappointed!
"It was the largest audience of the weekend and they went crazy for us. They sure let us know that they were happy we were there.
"We headed back to good old Blighty, buzzing about the show. We had two days off and then set off for Denmark.
"The Copenhagen show was a lavish event in a really top notch venue called the Vega.
"The sound system was second to none and the PA crew were really switched on.
"It was exceptionally well-organised and had been promoted in the same way because the place was packed.
"We were nervous because it wasn't our crowd – we were on the same bill as Cock Sparrer who have a large skinhead following – but we needn't have been because from the start they were behind us.
"Even the promoter was really taken aback by our performance and the T-shirt stall went mad after we had played.
"We sat on the stall for a good while after and were pleased by the feedback from the punters about our performance. People who had never heard of Frenzy were buying our CDs and shirts like they were going out of fashion.
"We have had a lot of Myspace and Facebook friend requests and online sales from members of that audience since we have been back.
"It's been a fantastic start to the year."
So what is in stall for the rest of the year for Steve, Steve Eaton (guitar) and Adam Seviour (drums)?
"The rest of this year is being planned and will include visits to America again," said Steve.
"Plus Australia and very soon, some tours of Europe and Scandinavia.
"So, now that we are home , we are preparing for the release of our brand new album, In The Blood, which is due to be released on Sunday, April 4.
"We have been creating all of the artwork and sleeve – we always look after that kind of thing ourselves – all to be ready for the huge release party that we have planned at a big German festival called the Satanic Stomp.
"The album is our best one by far and has already had some Radio One airplay courtesy of The Lock Up show hosted by Mike Davies.
"Before we head out for Germany for the launch, we will be having a smaller intimate release party at the Wheat Sheaves in out hometown on Thursday, April 1 where we will be debuting some of the new album material.
"We hope that everyone comes down to see what Frenzy are all about."
