Three members of the Street-based Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School have achieved the discipline's ultimate goal and become 1st Dan black belts.

Kelly Turner-Lee, Ashley Herron and Victoria House successfully came through a three-hour panel grading in Swindon at their first attempt.

To make their achievement all the more impressive, they were the first members of the ladies-only training programme in the UK to receive the highest grading.

Instructor Lucy Fear said: "What a momentous occasion it was for us all. They passed with outstanding technique and honour – I am so proud of them, what an inspiration to all the ladies that follow.
