Trial for glass attack which left victim with face gashed
A MAN has been ordered to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court after being arrested following an alleged glassing attack in Yeovil.
Somerset Magistrates were told that the victim needed extensive stitching after being left with three deep gashes in his face following the incident at a Yeovil snooker club.
Vince Robert Cornish, 24, of Royal Close, Yeovil, was charged with unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on Lee Whitfield on November 21 last year. He did not enter a plea.
Prosecutor Emma Chetland said that the victim had been told he would require plastic surgery and could be left with permanent scarring as a result of the assault.
