Trapped man rescued after A371 road crash near Castle Cary
Fire crews rescued a trapped man in the early hours of Monday morning after a road smash near Castle Cary.
Crews from Wincanton, Castle Cary, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet were called to attend a collision on the A371 near the Alhampton junction shortly after 5.15am.

The incident saw two vans in collision, with a male, thought to be in his 50s, trapped by his legs in one of the vehicles.
The male was rescued after crews removed the roof of the car using hydraulic cutting equipment.

South West Ambulance Service confirmed one man was taken to Yeovil District Hospital by ambulance with leg injuries. They were not thought to be life changing.
The other man was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police closed the road between Pecking Mill Road, Ditcheat, and the B3153 at Castle Cary whilst the road was cleared of debris and an accident investigation was carried out.
It was reopened shortly after 8.30am.
