Town handed home draws in FA competitions
CLEVEDON Town have been handed home draws in the FA Cup and FA trophy this season.
The first qualifying round of the FA Cup will take place on September 12 and the visitors to the Hand Stadium will be Radstock Town, Wimborne Town, Sherborne Town or St Blazey.
Before that, the extra preliminary round will see Clevedon United visit Launceston and Portishead Town host Brislington.
In the FA Trophy, Clevedon Town will host Brackley Town in the first qualifying round on October 17.
In the FA Youth Cup, Portishead Town will host Clevedon Town in the preliminary round, with a trip to Forest Green Rovers the reward for the winners.
Meanwhile, the Seasiders have begun pre-season training and have welcomed a number of trialists, including Cardiff-based central midfielder Joey Evans, who has been the subject of interest from a number of Welsh clubs.
"The players have settled back into training and they have worked well," said Town boss Nick Tucker.
"They have looked after themselves well in the close season, which makes my job a little bit easier."
Portishead Town Football Club begin training for the new season on Tuesday night.
Sessions start at 7pm at the club's Bristol Road ground and any new players are welcome.
