Western Gazette - North Dorset

Now, first things first, I had a number of people asking me what the six stands for. Does it have six gears? No. Is it a six cylinder? No. It's purely just the model. Men trying to challenge me on this subject are not going to get very far.

Following suit with all MGs, this new model has a sporty and sophisticated look with contemporary lines and a fantastically mean looking grille.

Checking out the interior yet again the new six model lives up to MG's standards.

Most importantly, I wanted to investigate the boot space as I was off to Cardiff with friends. I was amazed by the amount of space, I could fit all my suitcases in as well as my friends and that's something that doesn't happen very often. I sank into the comfortable sports leather seats and my 6ft 6in friend had plenty of room in the passenger seat.

My sense of direction isn't that fantastic so luckily for me the TSE model comes with satellite navigation.

Sometimes all this technology can be pretty frustrating as all the knobs and buttons can be rather overwhelming. However, the MG6 has kept things nice and simple with a clearly marked panel of buttons which is fairly self-explanatory.

The technology doesn't stop at the sat nav though. The TSE model also includes rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth for a phone connection, seat warmers, electric seats and auto light sensors which is ideal as I'm sure I am not the only person who has driven a quarter of a mile in the dark before realising my lights weren't on.

So now for the drive down my back country lane and onto the motorway towards Cardiff.

I believe first impressions are everything and the MG6 set off to a great start.

With a few dips to drive through, I didn't have an incredible jolt as usual in my little car, so thumbs up for starters.

On the way to Cardiff I took on tight bends and fast traffic merging onto the motorway and the MG6 performed in every aspect.

It took the corners with strength and confidence and pulled away with power. The drive on the motorway was extremely smooth.

Unlike my little car shuddering at 70, and feeling every piece of road surface the tyres touch, this is a fantastically smooth drive, spacious and contemporary with up to date technology. The MG6 has a sense of style and class which comes with a much smaller price tag than you would expect. Starting at just £15,495 for the GT S model, MG proves that sporty is affordable. MG has made a car perfect for a family or perhaps a professional. Its great value and style is what makes this car.
