Despite Saturday's npower League One clash with Scunthorpe United still falling within Parrett's initial spell, Glovers' manager Gary Johnson has been quick to keep hold of him for longer.
The boss revealed Premier League giants Spurs were happy for him to stay at Huish Park with North London team-mate Jon Obika.
"We are pretty sure we have just agreed with Dean Parrett and Tottenham, who have agreed he can be with us until the end of the season so that is good news," said Johnson.
"Dean has impressed me. He has got fantastic ability and there is probably more to come from him.
"People have seen his qualities, there are a couple of things he has got to improve on slightly but he knows that as well and I think he is happy to be here.
"We like the good bits about him and we are willing to improve the other bits about him. He has obviously taken that on board because he would like to spend the rest of the season with us."
After spending similar temporary spells at Aldershot and Charlton Athletic last season, Parrett made two senior Tottenham appearances as a substitute in the Europa League at the start of the current campaign, playing Rubin and PAOK Salonika.
