Somerton bus services are being simplified from February 19.

The 54C (Somerton – Yeovil via Charlton Mackrell) and 154 services (Taunton – Somerton via Langport) will become the 54 service (Taunton – Yeovil via Langport and Somerton).

Under-used journeys are being removed from the timetable. Charlton Mackrell and Huish Episcopi will no longer be served.

Buses to and from Somerset College are being amended slightly.

The Monday to Friday 7.35am school days journey from Somerton to Somerset College is being withdrawn, but will be replaced by the 7.10am journey from Yeovil – Taunton, which having been advanced by ten minutes will now leave Yeovil at 7am and will call at Somerset college at 8.23am on school days.

In the afternoon, both the 4.55pm Monday to Friday (school days) journey from Somerset College and the 5.10pm Monday to Friday (school holidays) journey from Taunton are being withdrawn.

The journeys will be replaced by a 4.40pm departure from Somerset College, which will call at Taunton Bus Station en route to Yeovil.

Some extra journeys are being created. There will be a new Monday to Friday journey at 5.40am from Taunton – Yeovil (arriving in Yeovil at 6.55am hours).

There will also be 6.40am and 7.40am Monday to Saturday journeys from Taunton – Yeovil which will provide a replacement for the 6.50am Monday to Saturday (Service 154) journey, and the Monday to Saturday 7.42am (Service 54C) journey from Somerton to Yeovil, which will both be withdrawn from 19 February.

In the evenings, there will be additional Monday to Saturday journeys from Yeovil – Taunton at 5.10pm and 7.10pm, which will provide a partial replacement for two withdrawn journeys (the 5.10pm Monday to Saturday, Service 54C, journey from Yeovil – Somerton, and the Monday to Saturday 5.47pm, Service 154, journey from Somerton – Taunton) and a later last journey from Yeovil.

The 6.50pm Monday to Saturday journey from Taunton – Yeovil is being completely withdrawn due to low customer demand.

Finally, some journeys on Saturdays are being altered slightly.
