Tor Knights 31 Newton 19

Knights recovered from a slow start to pick up an impressive victory.

Newton held the advantage in the first quarter, with Tor's shooters under pressure against a defence who picked off any weak passes.

Knights stepped it up in the second quarter and had a greater share of possession. By half-time, they had built up a good lead, which continued to increase throughout the third quarter.

Newton were also shooting well but Tor's defence kept the pressure on and secured several turnovers to regain possession and maintain control of the game.

Player of the match: Lauren Perry.

Tor Dukes 34 Millfield 41

Unbeaten league leaders Millfield proved too strong for Dukes last weekend.

Solid defensive work and accurate shooting from Lisa King and Claire Dickens meant Dukes were still in the contest at half-time.

A change in personnel turned the game in Millfield's favour, however, and they were able to pull ahead before the final whistle.

Player of the match: Anna Butler.

Tor Dukes 35 Claremont 31

A week earlier, Dukes had produced a late rally to pick up victory on their return to action during the visit of Claremont.

Both teams were evenly matched and the game was level until midway through the third quarter.

At this point Dukes began to get the upper hand and secured turnovers. This created more shots on goal, allowing them to sneak ahead as the game drew to a close.

Players of the match: Kathy Page and Lisa King.
