A mid-Somerset crew finished sixth in class at the county's top rally on Saturday.

Steve Leigh, of Street, and co-driver Nick Parsons, of Glastonbury, were tackling the Somerset Stages Rally in their Ford Escort and finished sixth in class B12 and 97th overall.

However, they would have finished higher had they not received 12 minutes of time penalties for twice checking into a time control early.

The rally, which is based in Minehead but run in stages around Exmoor and Porlock, was won for the second year running by Will Nicholls and Somerset-based co-driver Nick Broom in their Subaru Impreza WRC.
