POLICE in Clevedon are warning residents to secure their homes and vehicles following a spate of house burglaries and thefts from cars in the town.

Between January 27 and 28, police received reports of a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries where offenders had got in through unsecured back doors or garages.

Police are also appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the town during the evenings of January 27 and 28 in the areas around Windsor Close, Kingston Avenue, Wickfield, Brookfield Walk, Oakley and Fosseway.

North Somerset Community Safety Sergeant Dave Hayward said: "We would advise residents to make sure that all doors and windows on their property are kept locked, even those that are on the back of the house and harder to access.

"To lessen the temptation for thieves, residents should also keep their valuables out of sight from potential thieves and not leave any valuables in their car."

Police believe the incidents could be connected and are asking anyone with information to please contact them on 0800 456 7000.

“My dear friend was attacked by these scum. England WAKE UP! and let people defend themselves by owning handguns for personal protection.!!!”
