Martin Harley's career has been taking off in the US over the past year. But British fans of the phenomenally talented blues guitarist will be relieved to know he has not deserted these shores for good. Fresh from a frenetic US tour, he's now touring the UK with the rest of The Martin Harley Band, showcasing the tracks from new album Mojo Fix, recorded in Texas. Renowned as a lap slide player with a blues authenticity that belies his British heritage (he's actually from Guildford), Martin has upped the ante on some tracks, adding a rock 'n' roll vibe to his trademark slide guitar. But he says fans can sleep easy that he hasn't changed tack too much. "The music has changed a bit, but it is definitely still recognisable as a Martin Harley album," he says.

The Martin Harley Band play the Penzance Acorn Friday, March 29 and the Exeter Phoenix on Saturday, March 30.

June 22 is Bastille's Day at GoldCoast Oceanfest

Fast-rising indie folk stars Bastille will headline proceedings on Saturday, June 22, at the 15th GoldCoast Oceanfest in Croyde, North Devon. For someone who has only just released his first album, Dan Smith, the creative force behind Bastille, has already had a good taste of fame. With the band, he's played a sold-out gig at London's 1,500-capacity KOKO, sold out two UK tours as well as headlined festivals. There's two sold-out shows at the Shepherd's Bush Empire yet to come and another sold out UK tour. And they've got an army of fans hanging on his every word, covering songs from that debut Bad Blood release earlier this month, off the back of the successful single Pompeii, which has been enjoying plenty of national airplay. Supporting Bastille on the Saturday will be teenage sensation, Gabrielle Aplin, see interview right.
