Tests find no horse meat in Somerset school meals

Somerset County Council’s Trading Standards team has carried out testing on school meals following the horse meat scandal – and found they were clear.

All 28 of the samples analysed, which were taken from a range of suppliers across the county, have been found to be free of horse meat.

  1. Frozen burgers

A county council spokesman said: “We are pleased that the results have come back showing no signs of horse meat. We will remain vigilant and continue the process of testing food.”
