Tell the time in the style of James Bond
NOW here's an auction with great timing.
Charterhouse's two-day auction of over 1,300 lots on Thursday and Friday, November 15 and 16, includes a fine selection of watches – such as a James Bond-style Rolex Submariner.
-

UNUSUAL WATCH: This Jaeger Le Coultre gold reverso watch being auctioned by Charterhouse is estimated to sell for between £2,500 to £3,000.
-

007 FAVOURITE: The Rolex Submariner, left, is estimated to sell for £1,000 to £2,000 and the lady's 18ct white gold/diamond Rolex for £6,500 to £7,500.
-

With the latest Bond film Skyfall recently released there may be extra interest.
"The Rolex Submariner is an iconic watch and was used by James Bond in his films, but he also wore other top brand watches such as Omega and Breitling," said Charterhouse's Richard Bromell.

"The watch entered into the November auction was purchased new by the vendor's late husband around 1980. Sadly the original box and papers were lost but the watch could still sell for more than £2,000."
Other gentleman's watches in the auction include a Jaeger Le Coultre gold reverso wristwatch, guide £2,500 to £3,000, a Zenith El Primero chronograph wristwatch £3,000 to £4,000, a Vacheron Constantine wristwatch £2,000 to £2,500 and a lady's Rolex 18ct white gold and diamond wristwatch £6,500 to £7,500.
On Thursday, November 15, there are 500 lots of silver, jewellery and watches, followed by another 800 lots on Friday with wine, port, spirits and antiques.
Viewing for the sale is on Wednesday, November 14, from 10am to 6pm and on Thursday, November 15, from 8.30am to 5pm. Catalogues are available from Charterhouse, The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne 01935 812277 or you can download one free from www.charterhouse-auctions.co.uk
Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for a busy programme of auctions including coins, medals, stamps, model toys and collectors items in December, followed by pictures, prints and books in January.
