Teenager escapes uninjured after falling 14 feet near Yeovil

A 14-year-old boy was lucky to escape uninjured after falling 14 feet onto a rocky ledge near Yeovil.

Fire crews were called to Ham Hill Country Park, near Stoke-sub-Hamdon, at around 4pm today to rescue the boy after the fall.

One fire appliance from Martock, one fire appliance from Yeovil with safety at height equipment and the specialist rescue team from Bridgwater attended.

Ladders were used to take the boy to safe ground, where he was returned to his grandparents.
