MODERN PENTATHON Bath-based pentathletes Heather Fell, Katy Livingston and Mhairi Spence earned bronze for Great Britain in the third round of the 2009 women's Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

Beijing 2008 Olympic silver medallist Fell was the highest finisher individually in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, taking 10th spot overall.

The trio, together with fellow Brit Freyja Prentice, compete in the fourth and final World Cup round in Rome this weekend.

They will take part in the women's semi-finals tomorrow, looking to book places in Sunday's final.

Sam Weale, Nick Woodbridge and Simon Taylor fly the flag for Britain in the men's competition, which gets underway with the semi-finals today. The final is on Saturday.

The Rome event is the last opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2009 World Cup Final, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in September.
