Taunton hand debut to teenage scrum-half Bartlett at Henley

Taunton, last season's National Three South West champions, start their first season in League Two South with a trip to Henley Hawks.

The Somerset club have recruited 12 new faces this term, including former Dings Crusader Waylon Gasson, and have a dual registration agreement with Premiership newcomers Exeter Chiefs, which means they have retained the services of wing Charlie Walker-Blair.

Former Colts scrum-half Joe Bartlett, who is 18 today, is one of a number of players making their debuts. The other debutants are full-back Gary Kingdom (Plymouth Albion), centre Steve Ward (Exeter Chiefs), wing Jason Luff (Launceston), locks Greg Charlton (Bridgwater) and Charlie Lenygon (Newton Abbott) and flanker Jamie Flemming (Exeter Chiefs).

Chris Phillips (unavailable), Tony Yapp (ankle) and Kyle Giblett (cracked rib) are missing.

Clifton have recruited more than 30 players, a number of them on dual registrations with Bristol.

George Watkins and Chris Ashwin, from the Championship club, will play in tomorrow's match at Canterbury, while five more new recruits – James Stark, Dan Howick, Paul Fincken, Duncan Kelly and Tom Pool make debuts and Lewis Wilson and Ben Purcell are on the bench.

Former Bristol and Scotland prop Dave Hilton takes charge of Dings Crusaders for the first time as they host Newbury Blues.

Hilton has named a squad which includes former Bristol and Viadana centre Sam Cox and fly-half Mitch Burton, who has signed from Newbury.

They give debuts to two new signings, centre Brett Turner (Cinderford) and loosehead prop Nick Stoneman (Brixham). Two other recent signings, Nicck Selways (Chosen Hill) and Adam Gwilliam (Stourbridge) start the game from the bench while flanker Will Jones is the Severnsiders' new skipper.
