A crack house in Taunton has been closed following countless crimes and neighbourhood disturbances.

North Somerset Magistrates Court approved the closure order for the premises, at 147 Allington Close in Taunton – a property used in connection with the production, supply or use of Class A drugs.

Residents of Allington Close made a firm stand against the reported behaviour at the property, supporting officers and giving evidence against the crack house in court.

After investigating the premises, police officers found drug crime and anti-social behaviour was taking place at the address.

Following the hearing on Tuesday 11 December, the tenant has been was forced to leave the property, which has been sealed.

Anyone entering Number 147 at Allington Close over the next three months will be committing an offence and can be arrested.

Andy Murphy, Neighbourhood Sergeant said: "The work undertaken in Allington Close was with the full support of residents, who provided high quality evidence to support the Police case, ensuring that justice was swift and positive.

"This sends a clear message in itself, residents from within the Taunton East Policing area will no longer tolerate anti-social behaviour in any form and together we will continue to target those who offend, whilst supporting our victims and witnesses."

Local residents have been informed of the action that has been taken on this property.

Notices are now being displayed around the property explaining why the property has been sealed.

PC James Turner said: "This property was the source of serious and ongoing nuisance for the residents of Allington Close.

"The notice sends out a clear message that we will not tolerate such behaviour and will action where possible."
