Taunton Town beaten at home by Yate Town

Yate Town picked up their first points of the season in Division One South & West of the Evo Stick Southern League, winning 5-2 at Taunton Town last night.

The visitors scored four goals in the first half without response through Tom Knighton with two, including one from the penalty spot, Mitchell Page and Matt Groves.

Taunton skipper Andy Robertson pulled back a goal for Taunton in the 47th minute, but Scott Thomas restored Yate’s four-goal lead two minutes later.

Second-half substitute Simon Ingram made it 5-2 from the penalty spot in the 71st minute.

Frome picked up a point from a 1-1 draw at Banbury in the Premier Division.

Wayne Blossom gave the hosts an early lead, but Dave Thompson equalised shortly before half-time.

In Division One South & West, Cirencester lost 3-1 at home to Evesham, while Paulton went down 3-0 to visiting Wimborne.
