Taunton Titans beaten by late Clifton try
Clifton headed back up the M5 with the points after gaining their third successive victory, 18-17, over Taunton Titans in National Two South.
But it was a close-run thing, with the visitors winning a lacklustre derby game with a late try in the corner by Gareth Mason.
Clifton opened the scoring with a penalty from Ben Roberts after 15 minutes but Taunton hit back before the interval to go ahead with a try by Gary Kingdom which was converted by Brett Turner.
Turner stretched Taunton’s lead with another penalty shortly after the interval but Charlie Bullimore went over for a five-pointer for Clifton with Roberts converting and then kicking a penalty to put his side 13-10 up.
