West Somerset Railway and West Somerset Council are holding talks with Watchet residents over plans for a controversial pedestrian crossing at Govier’s Lane, on February 23.

The meeting will be from 10am-1pm at the Phoenix Centre. Plans and drawings of the proposed new layout of the approaches to the crossing will be on display and in addition representatives of the railway will be making formal presentations at 10.30am and 11.30am.

West Somerset Railway general manager Paul Conibeare said: “The stakeholders, the WSR and the council have been working together on the plans and we expect to resolve the ongoing problems with the Goviers Lane crossing.

"However input from local residents will be very important and welcome in finalising the plans before the work begins, and we hope to welcome and hear from as many interested residents of Watchet who are able to attend the display and presentations.”
