Talk gives lowdown on parliament
Wells U3A
Members of Wells U3A will be finding out how Parliament works when Naomi Kent, the Parliamentary Outreach Officer for the South West of England, gives the monthly talk at Wells Museum.
She will look at the work and procedures of both Houses of Parliament and cover how questions, debates and Select Committees operate. Naomi has the gift of being informative without being dry; she is able to draw in the audience and involve them in debate of their own whilst also demonstrating just how much there is to learn about how our country is governed.
At a time when there has never been a greater need for the general population to be well-informed about government and politics in general, this is a welcome opportunity to gain the knowledge to be able to make decisions ourselves.
