Swindon Town fund-raisers to run to Yeovil Town clash
Two fund-raising Swindon Town fans will go the extra mile to get to their team’s crunch npower League One clash at Huish Park clash next week.
Adam Wainwright and Corrinne Davis will leave the County Ground on Sunday morning and run the 70 miles to Yeovil Town in time for Tuesday evening’s game.
Wainwright, marketing and promotions executive at Swindon Town, and Davis, a personal trainer, are tackling the challenge in aid of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the club’s nominated charity for a second successive season.
Air Ambulance head of fund-raising Caroline Corrigan said: “Adam has already raised a huge amount of money for us when he did the trek to the top of the highest Atlas Mountain in September 2012.

“When he and Corrinne said they would like to do a run from Swindon to Yeovil in aid of our work we were happy to help in whatever way we can.
“This event will raise lots of awareness for the charity en route to Yeovil and we thank Swindon Town, Yeovil Town and all those companies who are helping to support our work.
“The funds raised from this event will keep us flying and saving lives. Funding for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance will rise from £700,000 per year to £2.5M by the end of 2014.
“We can only reach this amount with the help of people like Adam, Corrinne and Swindon Town’s on-going support and we wish them all the very best.”
Wainwright and Davis will run a similar return route to that covered by a group of Glovers’ fans and Yeovil Town Road Running Club members before the side’s met for the first time this season in November.
Former Yeovil physio Simon Baker led a group of relay runners through the night in aid of Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, completing the full distance alongside Nigel Moysey and Nick Brooke.
